Registered Nursing

Registered nurses (RNs) provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their families. (2) Carrington College’s Associate Degree in Nursing program can be completed in as few as 23 months and helps prepare you for RN licensure.*

Medical Assisting

Medical Assisting

Medical assistants are a vital part of any healthcare office, completing administrative and clinical tasks in physicians’ offices, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. (3) Students in Carrington College’s Medical Assisting program learn how to take a patient’s vital signs, record a patient’s history and personal information, and schedule appointments, among other skills. Earn your Certificate of Achievement in as few as 9 months.

Carrington’s Physical Therapist Assistant Program

Physical Therapist Assistant

Physical therapist assistants work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help patients improve mobility and flexibility issues caused by injuries, disabilities, or other health concerns. Physical therapist assistants may also help patients who just want to live healthier lives and increase mobility. (4)  Students can complete Carrington College’s Physical Therapist Assistant program and prepare for the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) for PTAs in as few as 19 months.*

Respiratory Therapy

Respiratory therapists help patients treat lung-related health conditions. A respiratory therapist may work with a premature infant whose lungs are not properly developed, a young adult with chronic asthma, or an elderly patient dealing with an advanced diagnosis affecting the lungs. (5) Carrington College’s Respiratory Therapy program helps students learn to assess and treat patients with respiratory diagnoses. Earn your Associate of Science degree in as few as 18 months.

Medical Billing and Coding Guide Featured

Medical Billing and Coding

Carrington College’s Medical Billing and Coding program trains future medical secretaries with the specialized skills and knowledge necessary to perform medical coding and process medical insurance billing and claims within healthcare settings. All courses in this program are offered online, except for an in-person externship completed at an approved healthcare setting. Earn your Certificate of Achievement in as few as 9 months, or an Associate Degree in as few as 13 months. Both credentials are conferred by Carrington College’s Sacramento campus.

Dental Assisting

Dental assistants help hygienists and dentists with routine procedures like passing instruments and sterilizing equipment, and often help make patients more comfortable during dental office visits. (6) Carrington College’s Dental Assisting program includes classes on anatomy, physiology, and radiography, dental sealants and procedures, as well as front office duties and patient care. Students can complete the program in as few as 9 months.
